A roofing company for the whole roof
Weathershield Property Maintenance looks after every part of a roof, from a single slipped tile to a complete re-roof, along with the flat roofs, chimneys, gutters and roofline boards around it. Every service here is one the firm lists on its Checkatrade profile, and every photo is one of its own jobs.
Each section explains what the work involves and what to look out for. If your job is not listed, or you are not sure what it needs, call 07748 775652 or send the form and describe it.

Roof repairs in Marlow
Most roof leaks start small: a tile that slipped in a storm, a cracked slate, or a ridge tile that has worked loose. Left alone, the water gets into the battens, the insulation and the ceilings below, and a small repair becomes a bigger one.
The damp patch on a ceiling is not always directly under the problem, because water can run along the underlay or a rafter before it drips. We find where the water is really getting in and put that right, and when a roof cannot wait there is a 24-hour call-out on 07748 775652.
Roof repairs we carry out
- Slipped, cracked and missing tiles
- Broken and slipped slates
- Leaks found and fixed
- Storm damage
- Lead flashing and valleys
- Emergency call-outs, day or night

New roofs and re-roofing
Every roof covering wears out in the end. When tiles are failing across the whole roof, the underlay has perished or the battens have rotted, a new roof is often better value than repairing it piece by piece.
Re-roofing means stripping the old tiles or slates, checking the timbers, laying a new breathable membrane and battens, and fixing the new covering, with the ridge, hips, verges and flashing finished to suit. Customers on Checkatrade mention being talked through the most cost-effective option first, and being kept up to date at every stage.
What a new roof involves
- Stripping the old tiles or slates
- Checking and repairing the roof timbers
- New breathable membrane and battens
- New concrete or clay tiles, or slates
- Ridge, hips, verges and flashing finished
- Warm roof construction where it suits

New flat roof
They replaced the flat roof on our extension with a new three-layer felt roof, and kept everything clean and tidy while they worked.
From Weathershield’s Checkatrade profile, in our own words.
Flat roofing
Flat roofs take more punishment than pitched ones. Rain sits on them for longer, sun and frost work on the covering, and a small split or a lifted edge can let water travel a long way under the surface before it shows indoors.
Where one area has failed, a repair is often enough. Where the covering is failing all over, or the boards beneath have gone soft, we strip the roof back and lay a new one, laid to a fall so the rain runs off instead of sitting in puddles.
Flat roof systems
- Felt, including three-layer felt roofs
- Rubber (EPDM)
- Fibreglass (GRP)
- Single-ply membrane
- Hot melt

Where you find flat roofs

Ridge, hip and verge repairs
The ridge along the top of a roof, and the verges at its gable ends, take the full force of the weather. Over the years the mortar that holds them cracks and falls out, the tiles work loose, and wind and rain find their way in.
We re-bed or replace ridge and hip tiles, repoint gable ends, and fit dry ridge and dry verge systems, which fix the tiles down mechanically instead of relying on mortar alone.

- Hip tiles re-bedded or replaced
- Dry ridge systems fitted

- Gable ends repointed

Chimney repairs
A chimney stack stands above the roof in all weathers, so it is often the first thing to suffer. Crumbling mortar, cracked flaunching around the pots and tired lead flashing where the stack meets the roof are some of the commonest causes of a leak.
We repoint and repair stacks, renew the flaunching, replace lead flashing and fit cowls to keep rain and birds out of the flues.
Chimney work
- Stacks repointed
- Damaged brickwork rebuilt
- Flaunching renewed around the pots
- Lead flashing replaced
- Chimney cowls fitted

Fascias, soffits and guttering
Gutters and downpipes carry every drop of rain off the roof, and the fascia boards behind them hold the gutters up and close off the edge of the roof. When a gutter overflows, sags or leaks at the joints, the water runs down the walls instead, and timber fascias and soffits start to rot.
We repair, clean and replace guttering and downpipes, fit uPVC fascias and soffits, and replace old concrete (Finlock) gutters. Guttering jobs make up a good share of the firm’s Checkatrade reviews.
Roofline work
- uPVC fascias and soffits
- uPVC and aluminium guttering
- Gutters cleared and cleaned
- Leaking joints and sagging runs repaired
- Downpipes replaced
- Concrete (Finlock) gutters replaced

Moss removal and roof inspections
Moss holds water against the tiles, lifts their edges and, when it washes off, blocks the gutters and downpipes. A roof with a thick coat of moss is not always a failing roof, but it is worth clearing before it causes trouble.
We clear moss from roofs and gutters, and carry out roof inspections with a report on the roof’s condition, so you know what needs doing now and what can wait.
What we offer

- Gutters and downpipes cleared
- Roof inspection reports

uPVC, cladding and exterior painting
Property maintenance is in the firm’s name. Alongside the roofing, the team fits and repairs uPVC windows and doors, puts up uPVC cladding, and paints the outside of houses, as the photos on this site show.
It means one team can look after the whole outside of a house: the roof, the roofline, and the walls and windows below. One Checkatrade customer had the gutters repaired, the roof tiles painted and the house painted in one go.
